Seifert was not a school shooter; he committed a massacre using homemade weapons including a flamethrower and lance. He served in the German military in World War II and then briefly as a police officer before being discharged as unfit for duty due to his health. He apparently targeted young girls in his attack. Prior to the rampage, he reportedly had plans to abduct girls and hold them hostage so he could “use” them whenever he wanted to. He was believed to have suffered from paranoid schizophrenia.
